4-star QB Jaden Rashada commits to Miami over Florida

4-star Top50 quarterback Jaden Rashada commits to the Miami Hurricanes over the Florida Gators via CBS Sports HQ.

The Jaden Rashada saga has been a wild ride from the getgo. From LSU to Texas A&M, to Florida, to Miami. The rollercoaster ride of recruiting is a wild ride, but none like the twists and turns this recruitment took over the past month. Jaden was a heavy University of Florida lean a few weeks ago. It seemed Florida had this recruitment wrapped up with his last official visit before his commitment on June 18th. Just a few days before his announcement, he pushed back his commitment date to June 26th, with an official visit to Miami rumored. That rumor proved accurate as he took an official visit to Coral Gables for a total of 3 days, leaving early on day 3. After crystal balls and predictions from recruiting sites started rolling in for Miami, it seemed imminent that Rashada would choose Miami. This will be the third recruiting battle in a row that Florida has lost to Miami for a prospect that they vastly needed. Trevonte Citizen was probably the only battle Florida lost on Early Signing Day that was not at a position of need after landing Trevor Etienne, but an elite recruit nonetheless. Darrell Jackson was a primary need at the Defensive Tackle position for Florida, and he chose Miami over Florida in the transfer portal. Now, Top-50 quarterback prospect Jaden Rashada chooses Miami over Florida. There is no question NIL has changed the game when it comes to recruiting. Florida will need to regroup, recharge, and venture back into this wild world of recruiting, as this puts Florida in a bad spot at quarterback. It is still early in this cycle, so there is no need to hit the panic button because anything could happen. But the earlier they find a quarterback, the earlier they can solidify this class and the offensive pieces around it. photo via on3.com
