Former Florida quarterback commits to Syracuse

Carlos Del Rio entered the transfer portal on April 22, 2022. He quickly found a home just one month later at the University of Syracuse, where he announced his commitment via Twitter.

Carlos Del Rio was the 146th-ranked player in the 2021 class and was initially recruited by Dan Mullen and his coaching staff. We got to see a little bit of Carlos Del Rio in the spring game, not before entering his name in the portal just a few weeks later. This will bring further attrition to Florida's quarterback room and opens the door for quarterback Jack Miller, who looks to be the second guy in line behind Anthony Richardson. This will also open up the door for any future quarterbacks who commit to the University of Florida.
